Krefeld Mayor visits Fire Station
Krefeld Mayor visits Leicester Central Fire station
On the final day of his visit, Krefeld Oberbergmeister Frank Meyer and his party were invited to visit Central Fire Station, Lancaster Road, Leicester.

On approaching the Station the duty watch put on an impressive display of water curtains and jets whilst they all paraded under a German flag flying from the Hydraulic Rescue Platform.

This was followed by a guided tour of the Station and included the opportunity to climb the Station tower or alternatively ride the hydraulic platform, to take in the panoramic views of Leicester City Centre.

Tea and cakes were taken in the Krefeld room, a space dedicated to the twinning relationship between the fire service of Krefeld and Leicester, and Frank Meyer gave a short speech to acknowledge this unique friendship. Some gifts were presented to the hosts before the party boarded their mini bus for the return journey to Birmingham airport.
