VISIT TO STRASBOURG AUGUST 2024

*Members of the LCLFC Senior team who played in Strasbourg against local team AS Musau*

We were met by the club’s first team manager and he took us to their club to share food and drinks with their first team. We had a really nice time learning a little bit of French as well as enjoying their food and company.

The next day we spent the majority of it exploring the beautiful city, we visited the cathedral, the European parliament and the gardens.

In the afternoon we went back to AS Musau Strasbourg for a game against their development team. As it was only us and them we played a longer 7 a-side match. It was a very well fought game that ended 3-1 to us. Unfortunately there was no trophy but we gave all of the Musau players a shirt as a token of the event and everyone enjoyed the game.

We then enjoyed more fantastic hospitality as they served more food and then a few of their representatives took us out for the evening. The highlight of this was the cathedral which had a light show. This was absolutely incredible to watch and it is so difficult to do it justice in a writing format.

The next day we had a little bit more time to explore. We were given the opportunity to ride bicycles around the City and get to see some more of the fabulous buildings in the City centre.

But we didn’t stop at seeing the City there. We went on a river tour with a couple of the Musau representatives. It was really interesting to learn about the history of the city and all that it went through before it got to where it was today.

After that we shared a drink with our hosts and then spent the evening having a team meal.

On the final day, we were shown to the town centre for a bit of a presentation from the deputy mayor. This was a fantastic experience for so many of us who never dreamed of being involved in anything like it. It ended with myself presenting both the deputy mayor and the representative of AS Musau with a trophy in the name of friendship.

After that we did final bits of shopping and then were transported back to the airport ready for our flight home.

Our brilliant senior ladies say ‘au revoir’ to our long-standing friends and partners at A.S. Musau Strasbourg. On behalf of the whole club they would like to give their thanks for the warm welcome and memories they shared together during their stay in Strasbourg, France.

The ladies and Sam presented their hosts with some awards for their unmatched hospitality and we recognise that we are incredibly fortunate to work alongside such a wonderful club.

We are so proud that our ladies represented LCLFC to the fullest and as you can tell, they had the best time!

We look forward to returning the favour to our partners in the future.

All in all a truly life changing experience that none of us will ever forget. The people were amazing and the squad are really excited to host AS Musau Strasbourg next year and continue building the bonds that were made over the weekend.
